Foothills Food Bank
The Foothills Food Bank was started by a small group of passionate local volunteers in 1988 in Cave Creek, Arizona. Their purpose was simple; provide food to families in the neighborhood who were in need. Thanks to support from generous community members, area businesses and volunteers, our service area has exploded to cover more than 225 square miles in Northern Maricopa and Southern Yavapai counties. From less than 150 visits a month in 1988 to more than 1500 people a month in 2021, the demand continues and thanks to our community support, we continue to meet the needs of our neighbors, and provide resources for those in need.

Open Volunteer Roles
Driver – Drive one of our food rescue vans to pick up donations from retail partners and deliver them to our warehouse. You’ll need a clean driving record, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and complete a short driver training, in addition to general training. Routes often start as early as 7:00 AM and run from our Cave Creek campus.
Warehouse Receiving & Distribution Clerk – Team up to receive donations and restock shelves. Average weight of crates is 25-35 pounds. You’ll get a workout and your steps in! Shifts run 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, and most wrap up by 11:00 AM.
Shopping Assistant – Support guests in our Mirabel Marketplace by assisting with their shopping and connecting them to resources. Shifts are from either 8:30–11:30 AM or 11:15 AM–2:15 PM.
Parking Assistant – Greet guests and help keep traffic flowing smoothly. During the summer, we even provide icy cold vests to keep you chill!
